Why we built it

Alvis is a no-code AI app builder for business. Code-generating AI app builders promise to make software development accessible to everyone: describe what you want, and AI writes the code. But what happens when you don’t understand that code? How do you confidently change, maintain, and grow an application you don’t fully understand?

For non-developers, that can mean ending up with code they don’t know how to maintain — and an app they’re not really in control of. Alvis is built to be different: no code at all, and every part of your app laid out where you can see it.

We wanted the opposite: the speed and ideas of AI, with the understanding and control of having built it yourself.

How it works

Alvis builds your app, and everything in it is laid out visually — something you can see, understand and edit directly:

• Data — the tables your business tracks, their fields, rules, and how they relate.
• Pages and forms — lists, detail pages, dashboards, and the forms people fill in.
• Automations — what happens when a record is created or a status changes, on a schedule, or when a webhook arrives.
• Access — roles, and exactly what each role can see and do.
• Reports and documents — the printouts and reports you need, ready to export.

AI works alongside you

You can start from an idea — “a school enrollment system with students, classes and fees” — or from something you already have, like a spreadsheet, a paper form or a PDF. AI asks the questions that actually change the build, proposes a plan, and helps you shape it.

When you want to change something, you can do it directly, or ask AI. Either way you see a plain-language plan and preview the exact changes before anything is applied. Every version is saved, so you can always roll back.

AI helps you explore ideas, solve problems and simplify the complex parts. It doesn’t take over, and it doesn’t leave you depending on code you can’t read.
